Navy recovers a buoy contained explosive in the seas off Kuchchaweli

Navy recovered a haul of explosive during a patrol carried out at Kuchchaweli beach area in Trincomalee, on 2^nd October 2019.

Accordingly, a suspicious buoy which was floating in the seas off Kuchchaweli beach was observed during a patrol carried out by Eastern Naval Command and by further search 04 non electric detonators, 04 safety fuses and 60g of substance suspected to be explosive which were safely packed in the buoy were recovered.

Further investigation on the recovered items are conducted by SL Navy.
