Navy holds three persons with illegally kept sea cucumber and conch shells

Navy held three persons with 550 sea cucumber and 04 conch shells at Chundikulam sea area in the early morning today ( 2^nd October 2019).

During a patrol carried out by the Northern Naval Command, these sea cucumber and conch shells which had been collected without permits, were apprehended. A dinghy, an OBM and other fishing gears were also taken into Naval custody.

The suspects are residents of Mannar area aged 28 to 34.The seized sea cucumber, conch shells, dinghy, OBM and other fishing gears were handed over to the Office of the Fisheries Inspector in Jaffna for onward investigation.
