Northern Naval Command conducts a beach cleaning programme

SL Navy conducted number of beach cleaning campaigns to coincide with the ‘National Coastal and Marine Resources Conservation Week’ which had been declared from 16^th to 21^st September.

Accordingly, Northern Naval Command carried out a cleaning programme to clean the beach areas in the command and Plastic/polythene particles and other degradable waste which harmed the natural beauty of the coastal belt, were disposed from the beaches during this cleaning effort.

In addition to that, number of eco friendly activities are practiced in the Green and Blue Concept in all naval bases under the able guidance of Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Piyal De Silva.
