Navy holds a person engaged in illegal fishing

A person who engaged in illegal fishing using banned nets at Mundalama lagoon in Udappuwa area, was apprehended by Navy on 16^th September 2019.

Accordingly, this suspect who engaged in illegal fishing using banned nets was apprehended by Northwestern Naval Command, during a patrol conducted at Mundalama lagoon. Navy also seized a banned net and an unregistered canoe. Apprehended person along with the unauthorized net and the canoe were handed over to the Director of Fisheries-Puttalam, for onward legal action.
