Navy renders assistance for conduct of annual feast of National Shrine of Our Lady in Matara

The Navy rendered assistance for the successful conduct of the annual feast of the National Shrine of Our Lady in Matara, held from 06^th to 08^thSeptember 2019 with the attendance of a large number of Catholic devotees.

While extending its assistance for the conduct of this religious ceremony, the Navy also helped taking the idol of Our Lady in procession in the streets around the shrine. The occasion was attended by a large number of naval personnel as well as local and foreign Catholic devotees.

Meanwhile, Rt. Rev. Raymond Wickramasinghe, the Bishop of Galle, the Father in charge of the shrine and the devotees were thankful to the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Piyal De Silva and entire Navy for their assistance extended for the successful conduct of the event.
