Navy assists to apprehend two persons with a haul of illegal foreign cigarettes

Two suspect with 10 packets of illegal foreign cigarettes, were apprehended during a raid carried out by the Navy in coordination with Police, at Sainthamaruthu area in Kalmunai , on 3^rd September 2019.

Accordingly, two suspects who possessed 10 packets of illegal foreign cigarettes were apprehended during a raid carried out by Southeastern Naval Command, in coordination with ASP office Kalmunai, at Sainthamaruthu area in Kalmunai. These 10 packets contained 200 cigarettes which were made ready for sale.

The suspects are residents of Sainthamaruthu and Malaikadu areas, aged 30 and 31. Further investigation on suspects and the haul of cigarettes are carried out by ASP office Kalmunai

Sri Lanka Navy carries out frequent raids in order to prevent such illegal activities and by that number of drug traffickers have been grabbed for legal action.
