Navy takes part in beach cleaning drive to coincide with ‘Rata Wenuwen Ekata Sitimu’ programme

To coincide with the ‘Rata Wenuwen Ekata Sitimu’ programme, Sri Lanka Navy today (29^th August) organized a cleaning drive in the beach area of Thal Sewana in Jaffna.

This timely initiative, organized by the Northern Naval Command with the participation of personnel from the Army, Air Force, the Department of Coast Conservation and residents of the area, helped to clean the Thal Sewana beach polluted due to a various reasons.

The Navy is conducting a number of similar beach cleaning programmes in every Naval Command to augment its projects on nature conservation.
