Navy holds a person with 1410 of banned nylon nets

Navy in coordination with officials of the office of Assistant Director of Fisheries-Puttalam apprehended a person with 1410 Nos of unauthorized nylon nets, at Mullipuram area in Kalpitiya, yesterday (28 August ).

Accordingly. a suspicious house had been observed during a raid carried out by Northwestern Naval Command in coordination with the officials of the Assistant Director of Fisheries Puttalam and by further search this haul of illegal nets with a person was taken into Naval custody .

The haul of nets and the person were handed over to Assistant Director of Fisheries for onward action.
