2264.9kg of beedi leaves found during naval operations

The Navy, during a search operations conducted in Mannar and Talaimannar areas on 23^rd and 24^th August, found another big haul of beedi leaves.

The North Central Naval Command, during search operations carried out in Nadukuda, Wankalei and Old Pier beach areas, found 2264.9kg of beedi leaves, in 27 packages, washed ashore. The recovered consignment of beedi leaves was handed over to the Jaffna Customs for onward investigation.

Meanwhile, the Navy has found 2839.4kg of beedi leaves from aforesaid areas during search operations carried out only in the past two days.
