Navy’s interest in conservation of beautiful beach lines

As another step of SL Navy’s conservation effort of a beautiful coastal line around the island, another beach cleaning programme was successfully conducted in Northern Naval Command on 23^rd 2019.

Accordingly, a cleaning campaign organized in collaboration with Jaffna Divisional Secretariat,by Northern Naval Command under the directives of Commander Northern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Kapila Samaraweera, was conducted to clean the Gurunagar beach area. Officials of Jaffna Divisional Secretariat, students of Illavalai college, Officers/ soldiers of Gajaba Regiment and naval personnel attached to NNC participated in this worthy drive.

Meanwhile, naval personnel conduct a number of environmental conservation programmes in every Naval Command under the Green-Blue concept mooted by the Commander of the Navy Vice Admiral Piyal De Silva.
