Captain (ASW) Nilantha Hewavitharana takes over Command of SLNS Sayura

Captain(ASW) Nilantha Hewavitharana assumed duties as the new Commanding Officer of the Sri Lanka Navy’s Offshore Patrol Vessel (OPV) SLNS Sayura, on 19^th August 2019.

Accordingly, the outgoing Commanding Officer of the vessel, Captain (H) Kosala Warnakulasooriya formally handed over the duties to the ship’s new Commanding Officer at SLN Dockyard in Trincomalee. Representing the Flag Officer Commanding Naval Fleet, Deputy Area Commander ENA Commodore Jayantha Kularathna was also present on this occasion. The proceedings of the ceremony concluded following an inspection of divisions by the new Commanding Officer.
