A suspect nabbed with a local shotgun

A suspect with a locally made shotgun was apprehended during a raid conducted by the Navy in coordination with Police STF, at Bandagiriya area in Hambanthota, today (6^th August).

Accordingly, a suspicious person who was travelling on a motor bike had been observed during a raid carried out by naval personnel attached to ‘Hambanthota’ Naval detachment belongs to Southern Naval Command, in coordination with Police STF officers of Panwewa. While searching the person, this local shot gun which had no license, was found.

The suspect is a resident of the same area, aged 52. For onward action, the suspect along with the local shot gun and the motor bike, was handed over to Hambanthota Police.
