Navy recovers 08 unauthorized fishing nets in Batticaloa lagoon area

Navy recovered 08 unauthorized fishing nets (each is about 100 feet in length) in the Batticaloa lagoon area, today (03^rd August).

Accordingly, naval personnel attached to the Eastern Naval Command, during a patrol conducted in the lagoon area of Batticaloa today, recovered these 08 unauthorized fishing nets.

Subsequently, these unauthorized fishing nets were handed over to the Assistant Directorate of Fisheries in Batticaloa for onward action.
