SLNS “Sayurala” turns two and anniversary celebrated on high note

SLNS “Sayurala”, the first ever Advance Offshore Petrol Vessel of Sri Lanka Navy celebrated her second anniversary on 02^nd August 2019 in a glamorous manner.

The anniversary celebrations had been organized on a grand note by the ship’s company under the directives of the Commanding Officer, Captain (C) Thushara Karunatunga. By giving precedence to rich naval customs the Commanding Officer inspected divisions and addressed the ship’s crew. The anniversary day concluded with the participation of ship’s crew in the traditional meal partaking known as “Barakana”.

In parallel to the anniversary celebration, a number of programmes including religious activities of all faiths, sports activities and a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) project at a child care facility in Trincomalee are scheduled to be held. Besides, arrangements have been made ready for a family get together and a musical evening for ship’s company in coming weeks.
