Buddhist religious programme in view of 22^nd anniversary of SLNS Gajaba

In view of the 22^nd anniversary of SLNS Gajaba which fell on 26^th June, a whole night Pirith chanting ceremony followed by an alms giving, was held on 26^th and 27^th July 2019.

The Commanding Officer of SLNS Gajaba, Commander (NP) Thushara Deegala carried the casket of relics in a colourful procession. In the following day after the whole night Pirith chanting, alms were offered for 14 monks with Atapirikara. The monks attended for the alms giving, bestowed merits upon the sacrificed war heroes, blessed for the well being and recovery of disabled heroes and all the naval personnel with Commander of the Navy.

This meritorious occasions was attended by Deputy Area Commander Commodore Sanath Uthpala, officers and large number of sailors attached to the North Central Naval Command.
