Navy apprehends a person with heroin

Sri Lanka Navy in coordination with Police STF arrested a person who possessed 5g and 820mg of heroin, at Kathaluwa area in Ahangama on 21^st July 2019.

Accordingly, a team of Naval personnel attached to Southern Naval Command in coordination with STF personnel of Hiyare arrested this person during a raid carried out in Kathaluwa area. The suspect has been identified as a drug trafficker resides in Ahangama area, aged 28 and he along with the heroin was handed over to Ahangama Police , for onward action.

Under the directives of Commander of the Navy Vice Admiral Piyal De Silva, Sri Lanka Navy has tighten the raids in contribution of the national effort of eradicating the drug menace from the island.
