Navy held a person with a stock of banned nets

Naval personnel in coordination with Police STF apprehended a person with a stock of banned fishing nets, on 13^th July 2019.

Accordingly, a group of Naval personnel attached to the Eastern Naval Command in coordination with the STF officers-Kalawanchikudi apprehended a person who possessed a stock of 42 banned nets, during a raid carried out in the area between Kattankudy and Punachchimunai.

The seized stock of nets was consist of 07 nets in 360 ft, 01 net in 180 ft, 29 nets in 174 ft and 05 nets in 150 ft.

The suspect is a resident of Kattankudy area aged 22. Seized nets and the suspect were handed over to Kattankudy Police for onward investigation.
