Navy apprehends person with heroin

Sri Lanka Navy and Police apprehended a person with 1.630g of heroin in Salpeyaru area, Trincomalee on 12^th July 2019.

Naval personnel attached to the Eastern Naval Command together with officials of the Kuchchaweli Police had found 1.630g of heroin in possession of the suspect, while conducting a search in Salpeyaru area. The apprehension was made when the suspect was transferring this addictive substance from Colombo to Kuchchaweli.

The suspect has been identified as a resident of Colombo 14, aged 53. The suspect along with heroin was handed over to the Kuchchaweli Police for onward investigation.
