Navy renders assistance to douse fire at a land in Puttalam town

Sri Lanka Navy firefighters rendered assistance to completely douse a fire broke out at a land used for collecting scraps and remains which was congested by buildings in Puttlalam town, on 11th July 2019.

On receipt of the information on the fire from Disaster Management Centre-Puttlalam, a firefighting team attached to the Northwestern Naval Command was promptly sent off to the location, to be engaged in fire extinguishing efforts.

The Navy firefighting team which was comprised of a fire engine and a water bowser, made strenuous effort and managed to extinguish the spreading flames completely.
