Navy renders assistance to douse fire at a land in Puttalam town

Sri Lanka Navy firefighters rendered assistance to completely douse a fire broke out at a land used for collecting scraps and remains which was congested by buildings in Puttlalam town, on 11^th July 2019.

On receipt of the information on the fire from Disaster Management Centre-Puttlalam, a firefighting team attached to the Northwestern Naval Command was promptly sent off to the location, to be engaged in fire extinguishing efforts.

The Navy firefighting team which was comprised of a fire engine and a water bowser, made strenuous effort and managed to extinguish the spreading flames completely.
