War Heroes commemoration ceremony at Galle

A commemoration ceremony of War Heroes who paid the supreme sacrifice on behalf of the motherland, was held at the Ranaviru Memorial in Galle today (2nd July).

The Governor of the Southern Province Mr.Keerthi Tennakoon graced this occasion as the chief guest. Commander Southern Naval area Rear Admiral Kassapa Paul, Senior and junior officers of Tri Forces and relatives of war heroes were present on the occasion .

During the ceremony two minutes silence was observed in respect of fallen war heroes. The souls of sacrificed war heroes were bestowed with merits by Maha Sanga and the disabled heroes were blessed. Concluding the ceremony, the guests, service personnel and relatives of war heroes paid floral tributes at the memorial.
