Navy-diving operation commences to find bodies of a couple drowned off Rumassala beach

Navy divers commenced an underwater operation to find a couple drowned off the Rumassala beach, today (16^th June).

On receipt of information from the Habaraduwa Police about a couple went missing off the Rumassala beach in Galle, the Navy promptly dispatched a diving team attached to the Southern Naval Command, to the said location. Accordingly, the divers managed to find the body of a female.

The deceased has been identified as a female about 30 years of age. The body was handed over to the Habaraduwa Police for onward investigation. Meanwhile, the Navy is still conducting the diving operation in search of the missing male.
