Joint Combined Exchange Training commences in Trincomalee
The Joint Combined Exchange Training (JCET) Balance Style 2019/01 commenced in Trincomalee on 13th June 2019.
The inauguration ceremony of the course was held at the auditorium of Special Boat Squadron in the Naval Dockyard and Commander Thusitha Daminda, Commanding Officer Special Boat Squadron attended it as the Chief Guest. Further, officers and sailors of the 4th Fast Attack Flotilla, Special Boat Squadron and members from the 19th Special Forces Group Airborne of US Army were present at the ceremony.
Thirty two (32) Sri Lanka Navy (SLN) personnel from the Special Boat Squadron (24) and the 4th Fast Attack Flotilla (12) are expected to join this training programme. The JCET is conducted by ten (10) trainers of the Special Forces Group Airborne of US Army.
The programme will be held as part of mutual understanding and agreements for training and support requirements of both countries. The three-week long exercise training mainly focuses on Human Rights, Law of Land Warfare, Tactical Combat Casualty Care, Marksmanship, Host Nation Maritime Interdiction and Military Decision Making Process.
Accordingly, the training module will help develop professional skills and exchange of knowledge between personnel of US Army and SLN in the field of Land Warfare and Application of Laws. The exercise training is scheduled to terminate on 05th July 2019.
