SLNS Udara and SLNS Wickrama II Fast Gunboats celebrate their 19^th anniversary

SLNS Udara and SLNS Wickrama II, two of the Fast Gunboats belonging to the Sri Lanka Navy fleet celebrated their 19^th anniversary, today (11^th June 2019).

Under the patronage of the Commanding Officer of SLNS Udara Commander Nalin Gonagala and the Commanding Officer of SLNS Wickrama II Commander Hemantha Ranasinghe, several programmes were organized in view of the anniversaries of their ships. Accordingly, giving precedence to rich naval traditions the Commanding Officers of the respective ships inspected divisions and thereafter addressed their crewmembers.

The anniversary celebrations concluded with the “Barakana”, the age old naval tradition of entire ship’s crew having meals together in friendly atmosphere.
