Navy arrests 02 suspects with heroin

Naval personnel arrested 02 suspects in Mandalakuda, Kalpitiya today (02^nd June) for keeping 35g of heroin in their possession.

Naval personnel attached to the Northwestern Naval Command during a search carried out in the general area of Mandalakuda held these two persons with heroin. Meanwhile the Navy also seized a van, small electric scale and 03 mobile phones belonging to the suspects.

The arrested persons are residents of Thalaimannar and Mandalakuda regions, aged 45 and 39. The suspects along with heroin, van, scale and mobile phones were handed over to the Narcotic Bureau in Puttalam for onward legal action.
