Navy found a dinghy and banned net at Erakkandi

A group of naval personnel held a dinghy with a banned fishing net at Erakkandi beach area in Trincomalee, on 25^th May 2019.

Accordingly, a group of naval personnel attached to the Eastern Naval Command, on patrol, had observed an abandoned dinghy at the beach. During further search, a banned fishing net, a stick of water gel, 43 kg of caught fish and an OBM were recovered.

The recovered items were handed over to Assistant Director of Fisheries-Trincomalee for onward action.
