Navy recovers 110 unauthorized fishing nets in Batticaloa lagoon area

Navy recovered 110 unauthorized fishing nets (each is about 100ft in length) in the Batticoloa lagoon area, today (25^th May).

Naval personnel attached to the Eastern Naval Command, during a patrol conducted in the lagoon area of Batticaloa today, recovered these banned fishing nets. Subsequently, these unauthorized fishing nets were handed over to the Assistant Directorate of Fisheries in Batticaloa for onward action.
