War Hero commemoration ceremony in Jaffna

In concurrent with National War Heroes' Day, a commemoration ceremony with floral tributes in memory of the War Heroes who sacrificed their lives for the motherland, was held at the War Heroes’ Monument in Palali on 20^th May 2019.

The ceremony was held under the patronage of the Governor of Northern Province Hon.Dr. Suren Ragawan and Maha Sanga, other religious dignitaries, Indian Counsel General in Jaffna Mr. S. Balachandran, Security Forces Commander-Jaffna, Senior and junior officers representing Tri Forces and the Police and family members of War Heroes also participated in the ceremony.

Further, this occasion was attended by the Deputy Area Commander of the Northern Naval Command Commodore Bandula Senarathna, senior and junior officers and a large number of sailors of Northern Naval Command

After conducting formalities of all religious faiths by Maha Sanga with other priests, all War Heroes who sacrificed lives and disabled in the 30 years lasted cruel war, were commemorated and offered floral tributes at the monument.
