Navy nabs a person with 100g of KG

A Naval team apprehended a person with 100g of Kerala Cannabis, on 19^th May.

Accordingly, a team of Naval personnel attached to the North Western Naval Command, in coordination with Narcotics Division of Puttalam Police apprehended a person with 100g of Kerala Cannabis, during a raid carried out in Kalpitiya area.

The suspect had been identified as a resident of Kalpitiya area, aged 26.The suspect along with the arrested KG was handed over to Puttalam Police for onward action.

Further, the sole responsibility of conducting drug prevention programmes under the His Excellency the President's "Unite for the Country" project, has been vested upon the Sri Lanka Navy. Abided with that concept, Sri Lanka Navy is well concern of conducting awareness programmes on drug prevention for the general public all over the island and alerted on raids related to the drug trafficking and retailing.
