Navy arrests two persons for illegally plucking of Aloe Vera plants
A Naval team in coordination with Sri Lanka Police arrested two person who were transporting illegally plucked Aloe Vera saplings, yesterday (18th May).
Accordingly, a team of naval personnel attached to the North Central Naval Command in coordination with Wankalai Police arrested two person who had illegally plucked Aloe Vera saplings at Vankalai Wet Land reserve area. The arrested haul consisted of about 510kg of Aloe Vera saplings which were contained in 18 sacks while transporting by a lorry.
The suspects are residents of Pudukuduirippu area in Mannar, aged 36 and 39. The lorry, Aloe Vera saplings and the suspects were handed over to Vankalai Police at Madu for further investigation.
Sri Lanka Navy is always vigilant on such unlawful acts which causes the destruction of natural environment.
