SLNS ‘Samudura’ reaches Singapore
SLNS ‘Samudura’ which left for Singapore to participate in the International Maritime Defence Exhibition (IMDEX) arrived at the port of Changi on 12th May.
Sri Lanka Navy’s Offshore Patrol Vessels, SLNS ‘Samudura’ left for Singapore from the Port of Trincomalee on 06th May and arrived at the port of Changi, Singapore. The Republic of Singapore Navy warmly welcomed her in accordance with naval traditions. Acting High Commissioner of Sri Lanka to Singapore, Mr. O.L. Ameerajwad and officials were also present on this occasion.
The International Maritime Defence Exhibition will be participated by navies of 33 countries with 16 Navy Chiefs and officers from 06 Costal Agencies.
The crew of ‘Samudura’ is expected to take part in several exercises which include; basic communication, flag hoisting, firefighting and damage control, action station and action messing, man over board drill, safe keeping boat distance line etc
SLNS ‘Samudura’ is scheduled to commence her return journey on completion of the exercise on 17th of this month.
