Navy arrests 03 persons for engaging in illegal fishing sans valid permit

Naval personnel arrested 03 persons for engaging in illegal fishing without valid fishing permit in the Kalladichenai area today (08^th May).

routine patrol carried out in Kalladichenai today, arrested these 03 persons who were engaging in fishing activities, without valid fishing permit. The Navy also seized a dinghy and an outboard motor during the arrest. The arrested suspects are residents of Sampoor, aged 27 and As such, a group of naval personnel attached to the Eastern Naval Command, during 44.

The arrested persons together with the dinghy, outboard motor and other fishing gear were handed over to the Fisheries Inspector of Trincomalee for onward action.
