Navy renders assistance to douse coir factory fire

A team of Navy firefighters rendered assistance to douse sudden fire erupted at a coir factory in Kalladi, Puttalam today (08^th May).

To meet with the emergency need, a team of Navy firefighters was rushed to the scene of fire, as soon as the Navy being informed of the incident by the owner of the coir factory.

Accordingly, firemen attached to SLNS Thambapanni in Northwestern Naval Command along with a fire engine and a water bowser were engaged in the firefighting effort.

The Navy’s effort was also well assisted by the firefighters of Puttalam and Chilaw Urban Councils and they were able to completely extinguish the fire, raging through the coir factory.
