Navy apprehends a stock of fish caught by blasting explosive

A Naval team had apprehended a person with a stock of fish caught by blasting explosive, at Soodikuda area in Trincomalee, yesterday (7^th May).

Accordingly, a team of Naval personnel attached to the Eastern Naval Command apprehended a person with 551kg of fish caught by blasting explosive (Dynamite), during a raid carried out at Soodikuda area. The suspect who is 39 years old resident of Muttur, was arrested while attempting to load the illegal fish catch to a cab.

The suspect along with the fish stock and the cab were handed over to the office of the Fisheries Inspector-Muttur.
