Navy apprehends a person with a stock of sea cucumber kept sans permit

Naval personnel in coordination with the officials of Police Special Task Force apprehended a person with a stock of dried sea cucumber in Vankale area today (07^th May).

Accordingly, a group of naval personnel attached to the North Central Naval Command in coordination with the officials of Police Special Task Force in Mannar arrested a person with 720kg of dried sea cucumber, during a joint raid.

The stock of sea cucumber which was kept without a permit had been found in his house. The suspect has been identified as a resident of Vankale, aged 37. The suspect along with the stock of sea cucumber was handed over to the Assistant Director of Fisheries-Mannar for onward action.
