Two (02) persons held with unauthorized fishing nets

Sri Lanka Navy held 02 persons with unauthorized fishing nets in the beach area of Karadakkuli on 27^th April.

Accordingly, naval personnel attached to the Northwestern Naval Command, during a routine patrol, held 02 persons who were making unauthorized fishing nets. The 02 suspects are residents of Wanathawilliwa and Wattakandal areas, aged 39 and 54.

Along with the suspects, a dinghy, an outboard motor and two 500m long illegal fishing nets were taken into naval custody. The 02 suspects and their belongings were handed over to the Fisheries Inspector of Mannar for onward action.
