Naval personnel receive cheques for semi-completed houses under Meth Sevana housing project
Forty six (46) naval personnel yesterday (26th April) received cheques for semi-completed houses under Meth Sevana housing project initiated by the Ministry of Defence.
Accordingly, the financial grant was conferred on 46 war heroes who made the supreme sacrifice and differently abled naval personnel who are on retirement and in active service, at a ceremony held at the Naval Headquarters. The financial assistance will be utilized to complete the initial stage of the construction of their houses.
The occasion was attended by Senior Staff Officer (Welfare), Commander Indika Edirisinghe, Senior Staff Officer (Welfare) Land and Housing Project, Commander Ronnie Athukorala and a group of officers from the Navy Welfare Unit.
