Seven people held with 80 litres of illegal liquor

A group of naval personnel arrested 07 suspects with 80 litres of illegal liquor in the beach area of Jinnapuram today (26^th April).

Accordingly, a group of naval personnel attached to the Eastern Naval Command, during a raid conducted in the beach area of Jinnapuram today, managed to find 80 liters of illegal liquor. Further, 04 plastic cans, 02 barrels and equipment used for illegal brewery were also taken into naval custody.

The arrested suspects have been identified as residents of Wakarei, Lankapatuna, Madiramkuda, and Pulmodai areas aged 19, 32, 57, 64, 65 and 75. The suspects and belongings were handed over to the Pulmodai Police which is conducting further investigation into the incident.
