About 275 kg of drugs apprehended at sea

Based on information received from Police Narcotic Bureau, the Sri Lanka Navy Ship ‘Sagara’ carried out a comprehensive surveillance operation off North Eastern coast and apprehended a Multiday Fishing Trawler with 05 Sri Lankan nationals today (22 April) while smuggling narcotic substance suspected to be Heroine close to 275 kg. The vessel is being taken ashore for further investigation. Further details will be notified in due course.
