SLNS ‘Sindurala’ celebrates her 1^st anniversary

SLNS ‘Sindurala’ which is one of the Advanced Offshore Patrol Vessels (AOPVs) of the Sri Lanka Navy celebrated her 1^st anniversary on a grand note yesterday (20^th April).

To coincide with the anniversary celebrations, a beach cleaning activity and an alms giving to members of the Maha Sangha have been organized by the ship’s crew, under the directives and guidance of its Commanding Officer, Captain (G) Naleen Nawarathna and Executive Officer, Commander (ASW) Manoj Leelarathna.

Further, giving prominence to the age - old naval traditions, ship’s Commanding Officer inspected divisions at Three Fathom Pier in Naval Dockyard, Trincomalee and the traditional partaking of meals, popularly known as ‘Barakana’ within naval community, was held for the crew members of the vessel, under the auspices of the Commanding Officer.
