A traditional new year tea party for the Naval crew at Naval Headquarters

A traditional tea party organized in view of celebrating the Sinhala-Hindu new year, for the crew of NHQ and SLNS Parakrama, was held at NHQ, with the gracious participation of Director General Operations Rear Admiral Niraja Attigalle, today (16 April).

This traditional tea party is organized in every naval establishment, ship and craft to encourage the Naval personnel who don't get the opportunity to join their family members for new year celebrations and stay at their home bases to ensure the National security. The traditional tea party at NHQ was organized by Commanding Officer SLNS Parakrama Captain Mahesh De Silva and the crew.

Director Generals and Directors of SL Navy, other officers, large number of senior and junior sailors representing NHQ and SLNS Parakrama were present on this occasion.

Further, in every Naval Command, representing all Naval ships, craft and establishments, new year festivals which new year customs were given a prominent place, had been organized by Commanding Officers in colourful note and naval personnel participated in those events enthusiastically.
