Navy successfully conducts another drug abuse prevention programme in Eravur

Another drug abuse prevention programme organized by Sri Lanka Navy was successfully held at the Divisional Secretariat of Eravur on 10^th April.

Going by the national programme – ‘Rata Wenuwen Ekata Sitimu’ mooted by His Excellency the President, the Navy has also organized a number of drug abuse prevention programmes island-wide.

At present these programmes are on progress in the Batticoloa district and accordingly awareness programmes were conducted for the rural community and the school children in the areas of Eravur 6D, Eravur 2C, Eravur 1B , Meerankarni and Eravur 3 in Eravur Divisional Secretariat.

These awareness programmes are conducted by groups consisted of Naval officers and counsellors and further it is assisted by Sri Lanka Police and officials of government and non governmental organizations (NGOs) in the area.
