Two persons used explosive for fishing apprehended by Navy

A troop of Naval personnel attached to Eastern Naval Command in coordination with China Bay Police, apprehended 2 persons who were using explosive (Dynamite) for illegal fishing, during a raid carried out at Marble beach in Trincomalee, yesterday (9^th April).

A dinghy, an out board motor (OBM), 251 kg of fish caught with explosive were taken into naval custody in the raid. The suspects are residents of Kinniya and Vellamanal areas, aged 24 and 21. Onward legal action on the suspects along with dinghy, OBM, caught fish and other fishing gears are being conducted by China Bay Police.
