Commodore Anura Dhanapala assumes duties as Commandant SLNS Nipuna

Commodore Anura Dhanapala assumed duties as the Deputy Area Commander (DAC) of the Southern Naval Command and Commandant of SLNS Nipuna today (9^th April). On a related note, Commodore Ranjith Premarathna who previously held the above two positions handed over the official duties pertinent to those appointments to his successor.

Further, both the incoming and outgoing DACs called on the Commander Southern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Kapila Samaraweera and held cordial discussions as well. Subsequently the outgoing Deputy Area Commander completing his 34 years of commendable service, Commodore Ranjith Premarathna was accorded a Guard of Honour in accordance with naval tradition after being congratulated by fellow naval officers. The Commander Southern Naval Area and a host of officers were also present on this occasion.
