Naval personnel visit children of Prithipura Children's Home

In view of celebrating the14th anniversary of SLNS Samudura, an offshore patrol vessel of SL Navy, which falls on forthcoming 21^st April, a number of religious and social welfare activities have been organized by the crew of the ship under the directives of the Commanding Officer Captain Damian Fernando.

Accordingly, the crew of SLNS Samudura under the guidance of its Commanding Officer, met the residential children of Prithipura Children's Home yesterday (08^th April) and looked into their welfare. Further, children were treated with a delicious lunch also.

This Children's Home provides shelter for 85 children who have lost the love and affection of their parents from very little ages where they seek it badly. Most of these are children with special needs and if we can keep them happy at least for a little time, it is a meritorious deed.

The staff of the Children's Home praised the Commanding Officer and the crew of the ship and the Navy as well for organizing this occasion on a grand level.
