Navy arrests 02 persons engaged in fishing without valid passes

A group of naval personnel attached to the Northwestern Naval Command, arrested 02 persons engaged in fishing activities without valid passes during a patrol conducted in the sea area of Salliyampiddi yesterday (08^th April).

Along with the suspects, dinghy and outboard motor were also seized by the Navy. The arrested persons have been identified as residents of Kalpitiya, aged 42 and 28. The 02 suspects together with dinghy, outboard motor and other fishing gear belonging to them were handed over to the Fisheries Inspector of Puttalam for onward investigation.
