Navy recovers the dead body of a drowned person at sea

A diving operation was conducted by SL Navy, yesterday (07^th April) in search of a person who had gone missing by drowning in Codbay harbour, Trincomalee and accordingly, the dead body was recovered at yesterday night.

In response to the information given by the fishermen about a person who had slipped off a craft at the Cod bay fisheries harbour, SL Navy promptly sent a team of divers which is attached to the Southern Naval command and Navy divers recovered the dead body after a strenuous task.

This person was identified as a resident of the fisheries village at first lane, Trincomalee. The dead body was handed over to China Bay Police for further investigation.
