Navy assists to douse fire in a shop at 3^rd cross street

A fire fighting team of Sri Lanka Navy assisted to douse accidental fire arouse in a shop at 3^rd cross street, today (03^rd April). Responding to the information given by the Fort Police about a heavy fire, a Naval fire fighting team was promptly dispatched to the location by the Navy.

Accordingly, the fire fighting team attached to SLNS Rangalla in Western Naval Area which engaged in the task, was comprised of 11 naval personnel, a fire engine and a water bowser. Fire fighting teams of Colombo Municipal Council and Ports Authority also joined in the effort and the fire which was spreading over the shop was completely doused by the firemen after a combined strenuous task.
