Two persons engaged in fishing without valid passes apprehended by Navy

A group of naval personnel attached to the Northwestern Naval Command, during a patrol conducted in the sea area of wella in Kalpitiya yesterday (30^th March), arrested 02 persons engaged in fishing activities without valid passes.

Along with the suspects, a dinghy and a outboard motor were also seized by the Navy. The arrested persons have been identified as residents of Uppukulam in Mannar and Kalpitiya areas, aged 26 and 49. The 02 suspects together with dinghy, outboard motor and other fishing gear belonging to them were handed over to the Fisheries Inspector of Puttalam for onward legal action.
