Navy arrests 02 persons engaged in fishing without valid passes

A group of naval personnel attached to the Northwestern Naval Command, during a patrol conducted in the sea area of Baththalangunduwa, Kalpitiya yesterday (28^th March), arrested 02 persons engaged in fishing activities without valid passes.

Along with the suspects, 02 dinghies and 02 outboard motors were also seized by the Navy. The arrested persons have been identified as residents of Kalpitiya, aged 38 and 42. The 02 suspects together with dinghies, outboard motors and other fishing gear belonging to them were handed over to the Fisheries Inspector of Puttalam for onward investigation.
