A person held for using unauthorized nets to catch fish

Naval personnel attached to the Southeastern Naval Command, during a patrol conducted in the general area of Maradamunei, Kalmunai yesterday (19^th March) apprehended a person for catching fish using unauthorized fishing nets. Six (06) illegal fishing nets (100m each) were also taken into naval custody along with the suspect.

The apprehended person together with illegal fishing nets which were in his possession was handed over to the Fisheries Inspector of Kalmunai for onward action.
